At Lakes Community Church, we have a Child Abuse Prevention Policy. We require that whenever possible two unrelated adults be present when working with children. These adults are required to complete a criminal record check periodically. This policy protects children and also protects the volunteers.
To make this effort easier for volunteers, we have enrolled with British Columbia's Criminal Records Review Program. This allows applicants in most cases to have their check done quickly over the web. In many cases, this can be done in just 10-15 minutes.
